Puppet Making, Workshops, and Consultation

Handbendi creates puppets in a range of styles from a variety of materials. We are happy to discuss your puppetry needs and work with you to design and create suitable characters for your productions. Thinking about using puppetry for your production? Not sure where to begin? We are also available to support your production through puppetry direction, consultation, and dramaturgy. 

Intensive arts courses and puppetry boot camps  are available at our studios in Hvammstangi and are bespoke.  We also offer a series of workshops and short courses in puppetry manipulation and puppet making.  

Workshops on offer at the moment include:

• Sock Puppet  Workshop (60 minutes duration, suitable for all ages)
• Troll Puppet Workshop (60 - 90 minutes in duration, suitable for ages 6 and up)
• Introduction to Puppetry Performance ( 1 - 3 days, can be tailored for children, teenagers, amateur groups, or as a professional class)
• Production Management: Booking a Tour (Full day hands-on masterclass for theatre professionals)
• Production Management: Introduction to Funding Applications (Full day hands-on masterclass for theatre professionals)
• Theatre for Babies (Masterclass for theatre professionals interested in developing their craft in the field of theatre for the youngest of audiences)
